Vauxhall Motors launches ADAM Black and ADAM White Limited Editions

Vauxhall Motors has launched a limited edition of 250 ADAMs creating even more levels of personalisation for the urban chic city car.  The ADAM Black Edition and ADAM White Edition take their design cues from a smartphone, encompassing optimal connectivity and a sleek and stylish feel.

The Vauxhall ADAM is the best connected small car in its segment and the new ADAM Black Edition and ADAM White Edition come with Vauxhall’s IntelliLink infotainment system and Siri Eyes Free voice control fitted as standard.  They reflect typical smartphone looks in black or white, with accents in brushed aluminium effect.

“The ADAM Black Edition and ADAM White Edition models resemble sophisticated smartphones on wheels,” says Duncan Aldred, Chairman and Managing Director, Vauxhall Motors.  “The ADAM combines innovative technologies with countless personalisation possibilities which are not available in its segment.  With these new models, our urban chic city car once again shows that it is the best connected small car and a true individualisation champion all wrapped up in one.”

ADAM drivers who have an iOS 6 – or later – compatible iPhone can comfortably and safely activate the Siri Eyes Free function via steering wheel controls and operate it with voice commands while keeping their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road.

Ultra-modern technology and design is mirrored in the looks of the special ADAM Black Edition and ADAM White Edition models. The ADAM comes in ‘I’ll be Black’ metallic paint or ‘Saturday White Fever’ brilliant paint exterior colours. The rest of the exterior carries a brushed, aluminum-look including the side mirror housings, and grille bar carrying the Vauxhall logo.  In addition, there are tinted rear windows and 18-inch wheels in a Twister design with matching brushed aluminium finish wheel clips. The black or white lacquered standard roof spoiler, as well as the characteristically shaped headlamps with LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights ensure the car stand-outs amongst its rivals. The sport chassis provides plenty of driving fun with its direct response and sports pedals.

Inside the cabin, the seats, instruments and applications continue the exterior colour scheme. In the ADAM Black Edition, all occupants enjoy the comfort of Ocio Black Morrocana seat trim cushions. While the centre console and instrument panel are piano black, the door trims, glove box, leather gear knob and handbrake handle are in contrasting bright white. The counterpart to this is the ADAM White Edition version, with its own colour scheme: the seats are Ocio White Morrocana also mirrored in the instrument panel and centre console.

The ADAM Black Edition and ADAM White Edition is priced at £14,995 (1.4 87PS), available across the UK.  For further information please visit http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/vehicles/vauxhall-range/cars/adam/black-and-white/adam-white-black-edition.html

Range Rover Long-Wheelbase

Debuting at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, long-wheelbase Range Rover models have 7.3-inches more rear seat legroom than standard-wheelbase models and when equipped with the optional executive seating package, an increased seatback recline of 17 degrees. Customer deliveries of long-wheelbase range rover models are expected to commence in late Q1 2014.

The individual rear seats can recline to 17 degrees, a full eight degrees more than in the standard-wheelbase. New levels of exclusivity with Range Rover Long-WheelbaseAutobiography Black

Land Rover has created a new ultra-luxury flagship, the 2014 Range Rover Long-Wheelbase Autobiography Black, which will make its U.S. debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. The new Range Rover Long-Wheelbase Autobiography Black interior has been carefully crafted and tailored to meet customer needs with subtle but distinctive detailing. The interior has been appointed and finished with high quality leathers and materials.

Available in long-wheelbase only for the U.S. Market, the Range Rover Long-Wheelbase Autobiography Black has been designed and engineered by Jaguar Land Rover's 'Engineered To Order' (ETO) division to build upon the exceptional Range Rover with extended levels of luxury, comfort and design in an exclusive offering.

A limited build of around 100 units is planned for the U.S. market in the 2014 model year. The first 25 will be built in Valloire White pearlescent paint.

Subtle and distinctive exterior detailing

A number of exterior elements to the Autobiography Black give it a subtly distinctive character. A unique design and finish has been given to the front grille and side vents along with badging in black enamel and chrome. Signature rear lamps, a chrome accent finish to the tailgate and auxiliary vents to the front add to the unique detailing of this vehicle. A new exclusive 7-spoke 21-inch with a high gloss polished finish further differentiates the Autobiography Black.

"The Range Rover Long-Wheelbase Autobiography Black is the latest step in our transformational journey that moves luxury to another level. This vehicle is an intensely design focused response to our customers' desire for more choice and exclusivity," says Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Design Director and Chief Creative Officer. Land Rover is extending customer appeal of its family of luxury vehicles with the launch of a new long wheelbase Range Rover and the addition of an exclusive specification – the Range Rover Autobiography Black.

The first Range Rover long wheelbase in 20 years, this new model will cater for a growing group of consumers looking for the ultimate SUV, and a unique alternative to the traditional long wheelbase saloon cars in the segment. Clever packaging has increased rear legroom by 140mm for rear seat passengers, boosted recline to 17 degrees and executive seating package provides enhanced comfort and space.

The new Range Rover Autobiography Black makes its debut at the Dubai motor show in early November. It represents the pinnacle of desirability to bring even higher levels of refinement to the world’s finest luxury SUV. The interior has been carefully crafted and tailored to meet customer needs with subtle but distinctive exterior detailing and is appointed and finished with the highest quality leathers and materials.

“With the addition of the Range Rover long wheelbase to our portfolio of luxury SUVs, customers can now choose a vehicle that offers superior levels of interior space and comfort to compete in a market dominated by saloon cars up until this point.

“The Range Rover Autobiography Black is our most luxurious specification yet. It epitomises sophisticated design with immaculate attention to detail. The subtle, elegant and luxurious finishing touches combine with a first class experience for both driver and passengers to deliver new levels of exclusivity to our customers,” says Phil Popham, Group Marketing Director, Jaguar Land Rover.

Both derivatives exude Land Rover’s renowned breadth of capability and performance with first customer deliveries from March 2014 for the long wheelbase and August 2014 for the Range Rover Autobiography Black.

Long wheelbase extends customer appeal

Land Rover is set to extend customer appeal with the reveal of a long wheelbase Range Rover at the LA Auto Show on 20th and Guangzhou on the 21st November.

An additional 140mm to rear legroom has been achieved by lengthening the bodyshell in front of the rear wheels. Clever packaging ensures the signature floating roof and distinctive Range Rover silhouette have been retained to ensure this addition to the family line-up is instantly recognisable.

Available with either bench or individual Executive Class rear seats, the second row executive style seats can recline to 17 degrees, a full eight degrees more than the nine degrees on the standard wheelbase. Passenger Seat Away slides the front seat forward to provide additional space and comfort. For added convenience, the long wheelbase is equipped with powered side door blinds and a panoramic sunroof as standard, as well as increased stowage. Range Rover long wheelbase models will carry a distinctive ‘L’ badge mounted into the exterior accents behind each front wheel arch.

The long wheelbase will be offered on Autobiography and Autobiography Black models. A Range Rover Hybrid derivative will also become available later in 2014.

This is the first Range Rover long wheelbase since the Range Rover LSE which ran from 1992 to 1994.

New levels of exclusivity with Range Rover Autobiography Black

Land Rover will be unveiling its most exclusive specification vehicle to date at the Dubai International Motor Show on November 5th – the Range Rover Autobiography Black, available in long wheelbase only.

Based on over 40 years of experience, the new Range Rover Autobiography Black has been designed and engineered by Jaguar Land Rover’s ‘Engineered To Order’ (ETO) division to deliver an unmatched combination of luxury and design and all-terrain performance.

“The Range Rover Autobiography Black is an opportunity to harness the strong emotional connection that Land Rover has with its customers the world over. This exclusive vehicle has been developed by the specialist Engineered to Order team to offer our customers an unrivalled and luxurious driving experience that provides a seamless integration between the needs of business and leisure,” says John Edwards, Managing Director, Individual Products Division.

Subtle but distinctive exterior detailing

A number of changes to the Autobiography Black exterior give it a distinctive and subtly different character. A unique design finish has been appointed to the front grille and side vents along with distinguishable badging in black enamel and chrome. Signature rear lamps and auxiliary vents to the front add to the exclusivity of this vehicle with a chrome accent finish to the tailgate.

Two new and exclusive Autobiography Black wheel designs accompany the core Range Rover wheel choices. These are 7-spoke 21” and a 22” wheels with a high gloss polished finish, the latter of which will be available from spring 2014.

“The Range Rover Autobiography Black is the latest step in our transformational journey that moves luxury to another level. This vehicle is an intensely design focused response to our customers’ desire for more choice and exclusivity,” says Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Design Director and Chief Creative Officer.

“The highest standards of precision detailing, together with the use of the finest crafted materials, have been achieved inside and out. Autobiography Black represents the pinnacle of desirability in the world of luxury inhabited by our Range Rover customers,” McGovern adds.

First class travel

The Range Rover Autobiography Black incorporates a unique seat cover design with the desirable Executive Class seating package. This package offers the ultimate in rear seat luxury with two individual fully adjustable seats and a re-designed full extended centre console to offer supreme comfort and functionality. Large 10.2 inch rear screens are fitted to the rear of the front seats which together with Meridian Audio provides passengers with a fully immersive experience.

Re-designed exclusively for the Autobiography Black, the rear centre console includes electrically deployable tables covered in black leather with integrated USB charging sockets and cup holders. The chiller compartment provides additional space for glasses and bottles and increased stowage is available to the rear. The headphone stowage trim can be removed to reveal a ski hatch whilst the entire rear console can be illuminated in harmony with the vehicle’s mood lighting settings.

Sumptuous leather seating is complemented with a massage function and bolsters with 18-way seat adjustability for the driver and front passenger. Seat memory and climate control is available to the front and rear occupants. Rear passengers benefit from the addition of lumbar massage and powered recline, a calf rest for the rear passenger side occupant and Solar Attenuating privacy glass.

Customer-configurable LED mood lighting allows the owner to set the tone by varying the intensity of the lighting from a range of 10 colours. This feature is concentrated on the door handles and stowage compartments, as well as following the lines of the lavish, veneered surfaces on the centre console. The footwell lighting can also be adjusted to ambient rather than plain white.

Finer details include leather-wrapped parcel shelf, A, B and C-pillar lower sections and a perforated leather finish on the door insert. The seat backs, ski hatch, parcel shelf and upper D-pillar are also leather wrapped. Tread plates are illuminated with ‘Autobiography Black’ script whilst a brushed stainless steel tailgate finisher completes the detailing in the loading bay.

Exclusive colour combinations

Three exclusive colour combinations are available with the Range Rover Autobiography Black at launch; Ebony/Lunar, Espresso/Tan and Dark Cherry/Ivory, the latter including a unique duo-tone seat. These will be followed by Lunar/Cirrus in spring 2014, when a unique Poltrona Frau seat design in Navy/Ivory also becomes available, providing further opportunity for customers to tailor the interior to their personal taste.

Subaru XV Black edition, looks, quality and rugged, go anywhere appeal.

  • Limited run model with a choice of petrol or diesel engines and manual and Lineartronic transmissions
  • Visual changes boost the XV’s rugged, go-anywhere appeal
  • XV retains the highest Euro NCAP safety rating in its class
  • XV Black Limited Edition priced from £24,495 (OTR)

Subaru has today announced the launch of the Subaru XV Black, a new limited edition variant of the manufacturer’s popular compact crossover. The ‘XV Black’ models will be available with either Subaru’s 2.0-litre Boxer diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission, or the 2.0-litre Boxer petrol unit and a Lineartronic automatic transmission.

Exclusively finished in Crystal Black Silica paint, the XV Black offers a number of visual additions unique to the special edition model, which are designed to boost the car’s rugged, go-anywhere appeal.  These include front, rear and side silver-resin underguards, front and rear mudflaps, a cargo step panel and a foldable cargo tray.  Inside, the Black model is fitted with heavy-duty rubber floor mats.

The All-Wheel-Drive XV Black is priced at £24,495 (on-the-road) for the 2.0i Lineartronic and £24,995 for the 2.0 Boxer diesel, and is based on the existing SE model.  Motorists will pay just £1,000 for all the extras fitted as standard to the XV Black, which – if fitted separately as options to other models in the range – would total over £1,600, meaning the new Limited Edition model offers both exclusivity and value for money.

The XV enjoys a class-leading five-star Euro NCAP crash safety rating and at 90%, one of the highest scores for child occupant protection ever recorded, making it ideal for young families.

Perfectly suited to everyday use in an urban or out of town environment, the ‘go anywhere’ XV combines the highest ground clearance of any vehicle in its segment with the lowest centre of gravity.  Efficient engines and lightweight body mean the XV is able to return a 50.4mpg on the combined cycle and emits only 146 g/km CO2 (2.0-litre diesel models).

The new XV Black Limited Edition features Subaru’s typically generous standard equipment levels, including Subaru’s standard-fit Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) system, providing world-class hazard avoidance capabilities.  Other standard features include front, side, curtain and knee airbags, 17-inch alloy wheels, daytime running lights, heated front seats, wiper de-icers, cruise control, folding door mirrors, dual-zone air-conditioning, rear view safety camera, Bluetooth, HID headlamps, and rear privacy glass.

AUDI adds new quattro models to A3 and A6 ranges.

New all-wheel-drive versions of latest A3 Saloon, A6 Saloon and A6 Avant models are ready to weather the storm in winter 2013

  • quattro all-wheel-drive now available in conjunction with 1.8-litre 180PS TFSI engine in all-new A3 Saloon and with lead-in 204PS V6 TDI engine in A6 range
  • A3 quattro Saloon prices from £27,560 OTR, A6 3.0 TDI quattro 204PS prices from £38,385 OTR

As our uncharacteristically balmy summer gives way to autumn, the number of wet-weather ‘quattro days’ in 2013 could still exceed last year’s total of 172. In timely fashion, the number of Audi models equipped with this world renowned aid to driving in all weathers is on the rise. New quattro-equipped versions of the A3 Saloon, the A6 Saloon and the A6 Avant have just joined the largest all-wheel-drive range in the premium sector, which amounts to well over 150 models. All new additions are available to order now.

In the all-new A3 Saloon range the advanced directly and indirectly injected 1.8-litre TFSI engine is now available in conjunction with quattro drive, and in the A6 line-up customers opting for the smooth and refined power of the lead-in V6 TDI engine can now also channel its 204PS to all four wheels.

Linked exclusively to the six-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission with its ultra-fast shift pattern, and splitting its 180PS four ways, the new A3 1.8 TFSI quattro Saloon can reach 62mph from rest in 6.8 seconds, tops out at 146mph and yet also combines the potential for up to 42.8mpg with low CO2 of 152g/km.

Further up the range, the new 204 PS A6 3.0 TDI quattro sprints to 62mph in just seven seconds  (7.2 seconds in the Avant), a fraction more rapidly than its front-wheel-driven counterpart. It also benefits from a torque boost over its eight-speed multitronic transmission-equipped, front-wheel-drive equivalent, from 400Nm to 450Nm. Top speeds are 149mph for both Saloon options, and 143mph for both Avants.

Three V6 TDI options

The new 204 PS V6 TDI quattro is one of three powerful V6 TDI engines in the A6 range to feature the crown gear centre differential-based version of the quattro all-wheel-drive system. The more powerful 3.0 V6 TDI engine with 245 PS and the top of the range 313 PS V6 BiTDI are linked to this system exclusively.

The A3 1.8 TFSI quattro Saloon is the first in the four-door range to adopt multi-plate clutch-based quattro technology. It will be joined later this year by the 300PS S3 quattro Saloon with six-speed manual and six-speed S tronic transmission options, and in mid-2014 by the A3 2.0 TDI quattro with 184PS and standard six-speed S tronic transmission.

The A3 1.8 TFSI quattro Saloon is available with Sport or S line specification priced at £27,560 OTR and £29,710 respectively. Prices for the new 204PS A6 3.0 TDI quattro models start from £38,385 for the A6 Saloon 3.0 TDI quattro SE, increasing to £44,945 for the lavishly equipped, S line-based A6 Avant 3.0 TDI quattro Black Edition.

The case for quattro - British rainfall data

Up to the end of September the Met Office has so far recorded 97 ‘rainfall days’, i.e. days when over 1.0mm of rain fell. In 2012 as a whole, 172 rainfall days were recorded. Globally last year, more than 43 per cent of Audi customers opted for the added reassurance of quattro, and the Neckarsulm plant in Germany – home of Audi high performance division quattro GmbH – equipped one car in every two on the production line with the technology.
