Honda Sales Charts - December 2013

Honda had a great year in 2013, posting significant sales of many models worldwide. Sales in the Americas totaled to 1,525,312 vehicles during the year, making it the second best in the company's history.

Several models contributed to these numbers, including the CR-V which posted annual sales of over 300,000, joining with the Accord and Civic as best selling models. The 9th generation Accord has also posted sales that exceed the previous generation that ran from 2008-2012. On the Acura side, the successful RDX and MDX lead the company with record sales. The Acura luxury brand has already launched in China and Russia (http://acura.ru/) and will soon be available in Brazil.

"Breaking our December sales record is a great way to finish a near-record year, but perhaps more significantly, the CR-V joins Accord and Civic as the third Honda vehicle to sell more than 300,000 units per year for the first time in our history," said John Mendel, executive vice president of sales at American Honda. "In a hotly competitive market, where every manufacturer brought their best products, our core models demonstrated significant growth without having to resort to fleet sales to drive volume as some of our competitors do."

From what I can see, these models are starting to dwindle: Insight, CR-Z, FCX, Crosstour, TSX, and ZDX. These are also all models that I see packing their bags for good within a few years.
