Ducati Hyperstrada Resmi Diperkenalkan di Tanah Air
Ducati akhirnya secara resmi memperkenalkan motor touringnya di Indonesia, Ducati Hyperstrada dimana motor touring ini merupakan dimensi baru dari Hypermotard yang memiliki bodi yang lebih pendek dan rendah serta Wheelbase yang lebih pendek yang khusus di rancang untuk pasar asia.
Untuk kawasan Asia, Ducati akan memasarkan Hyperstrada ‘low version’ dengan suspensi depan dan belakang lebih pendek sehingga ketinggian jok menjadi 830 mm (Hyperstrada 850 mm).
“Ketika mengembangkannya kami memikirkan pasar Asia, itulah sebabnya rendahkan ketinggian jok dan suspensi,” kata Pierfrancesco Scalzo, Region Asia Commercial Director Ducati.
“Posisi setang 20 mm lebih tinggi dari setang Hypermotard untuk memberikan posisi komando kepada pengendara. Kami mendesain jok pengemudi dan penumpang lebih lebar sehingga mereka nyaman saat berkendara jauh. Jok penumpang dibuat horizontal agar nyaman.”
Ducati juga membekali Hyperstrada dengan fitur teknologi Ducati Safety Pack (DSP) yang terdiri dari ABS dan DTC (control traksi). Pegendara dapat memilih mode berkendara seperti Urban, Sport dan Touring.
Ducati Hyperstrada menggendong mesin Hypermotard 821cc Testastretta 11° yang mampu menghasilkan tenaga 110 hp dan disandingkan dengan transmisi 6-speed. Untuk kapasitas tangki bensin Hyperstrada mampu menampung 16 liter BBM.
Menurut Agustus Nugroho, Bos dari Ducati Indonesia, menyatakan untuk harga Ducati Hyperstrada dibanderol sekitar Rp 355 Juta, dan siap dikirin pada bulan November 2013 jika tidak ada kenaikan PPnBM. Ducati Hyperstrada hadir dengan pilihan warna merah dan akan langsung di impor langsung dari Thailand secara utuh.

Sepeda motor ataupun mobil listrik kini mulai digandrungi masyarakat dunia, selain tak memakai bahan bakar minyak kendaraan dengan tenaga listrik ini juga lebih ramah lingkungan.
Pada ajang Harteknas (Hari Teknologi Nasional), sebuah Sepeda Listrik Uno dari Ataris Motors diperkenalkan pada masyarakat sebagai transportasi perkotaan yang di desain mirip dengan motor skutik.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Toyota Motor Corp. is racing to make its cars stronger in frontal crash tests after some vehicles, including the RAV4 compact crossover, were stung by poor safety ratings.
Engineers at the Toyota Technical Center here have been reworking designs since last year, said Osamu Nagata, CEO of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America Inc. and head of all local manufacturing and r&d.
Toyota plans midcycle vehicle changes so the cars perform better in so-called small overlap frontal crash tests, he said.
The tests, performed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, simulate what happens when a driver crashes the left front quarter of his vehicle into an object such as a tree or pole.
They are not yet included in the federal government's five-star ratings. But researchers say they are responsible for an outsized share of driving deaths. The IIHS ratings have become a major marketing factor for brands that perform well.
In December, the Toyota Camry and Prius V fared at the bottom of the field among mid-sized sedans tested and were rated poor, the lowest designation. In July, the RAV4 racked up another poor rating despite getting updates to improve stability and padding.
"We are now implementing some design countermeasures to improve our small overlap results," Nagata said in an interview.
Fixes will be made "as soon as possible" to the RAV4 and other vehicles, Nagata said. He did not identify other nameplates.
"Each vehicle has its own countermeasure schedule," Nagata said. "As soon as designs are ready and parts are fixed, we'll have running changes for any vehicle, not only the RAV4."
Toyota would not say which vehicle gets the next upgrade. Nagata did not give details of the changes. But fixes likely will include strengthening structural parts, he said.
"We will make sure the customer feels safe," Nagata said. "Some products are still best safety picks under the IIHS recommendations, so this is our additional challenge."
Toyota spokeswoman Cynthia Mahalak said 21 Toyota, Lexus and Scion models were named 2013 Top Safety Picks by the IIHS.
But cars performing poorly in the small overlap test can still receive top-pick status if they perform well in the IIHS's four traditional tests. To get the best rating of Top Safety Pick+, the vehicle needs a good or acceptable small overlap result.
By that measure, only the Scion tC qualifies.
IIHS began using the tests last year but telegraphed the change to carmakers in 2009, institute spokesman Russ Rader said. Some manufacturers, including Honda Motor Co. and Subaru, were quicker to incorporate design changes than others, he said.
The IIHS released its latest batch of small-car test results this month. But it delayed testing of the Toyota Corolla because a redesigned car is coming to market soon.
Rader said the IIHS is testing the Corolla this month and will release its small overlap appraisal in a few weeks

Hyosung Akan Luncurkan GV250 pada Bulan Oktober
Hyosung yang merupakan produsen motor dari Korea Selatan ini rencananya akan meluncurkan varian terbarunya GV250 pada bulan Oktober 2013 untuk pasar India, dimana India menjadi pasar otomotif yang sangat potensial bagi para produsen motor dunia seperti yang dikutip dari motorbeam.
Hyosung GV250 dibekali mesin V-twin 249 cc, 8 katup dengan transmisi lima percepatan. Sepeda motor berpendingin cairan ini mampu menghasilkan tenaga sebesar 25 BHP pada 10.000 RPM. Hasil tersebut berasal dari gearbox lima speed yang dilakukan sedikit tuning agar hasil tenaga jauh lebih baik lagi.
Untuk system pengereman, Hyosung GV250 menggunakan disc brake untuk bagian depan sedang untuk bagian belakang mengadopsi drum set up, untuk ukuran ban, karena model ini berdesain ala moge, ban yang digunakan pun terbilang cukup besar, untuk bagian depan terpasang ban dengan ukuran 110/90/16 sedangkan untuk bagian belakang menggunakan ukuran ukuran 150/80/15. moge yang memiliki kapasitas tangki bahan bakar mencapai 16 liter, dengan bobot 170 kg ini akan menjadi alternatif bagi para konsumen disana sebagai motor cruiser premium untuk tunggangan terbarunya.
