2015 Honda City Spied?

This car was seen testing in Thailand and will not be for the North American market.  Think of a FIT Sedan.

This is the first time we’ve seen this prototype on-test in Thailand. It appears to have the new Honda family front-end, and judging from its size, it appears to be some kind of C-segment sedan. Might we be looking at a Honda Jazz sedan on-test, or perhaps the new 2015 City? Couple of months earlier, we brought you the rendered picture of the upcoming next-gen Honda City, giving our readers an overall idea of how the production version will look like! - See more at: http://bharathautos.com/spy-shots-is-this-the-all-new-2015-honda-city.html#sthash.y72r2azb.dpuf

We are not surprised to hear, even if Honda has commenced the testing of 2015 City in India. As Economic Times recently reported that, all-new 2015 Honda City is all-set to unveil this-month, but the location remains unknown at the moment. This comes as a surprise, as we were expecting the next-gen City to premiere at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, along with the new 2014 Jazz hatchback and Brio-based Mobilio MPV.
This car isn’t to be confused with the Honda Civic, which is a D-segment car, Honda’s term for entry-level cars aimed at increasing market share in emerging markets like India and China. But the 2015 City’s launch in India is expected to happen after that of the new Jazz. The Japanese car manufacturer has other cars on the cards that include the Brio-based MPV and Jazz-based compact SUV. Sadly, all these models will be launched over the period of next 2 years.

Spied – Honda Jade MPV spotted completely undisguised in China

The production version of the Honda Jade, a compact MPV that made its debut at Auto Shanghai 2013 as a near-production concept, has been spied in China and that without any camouflage.

The Honda Jade was previewed by the Honda Concept S, unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show last year. The car is based on the platform of the third generation Honda Stream which is again a compact MPV.

The production version that was spotted stays completely true to the car that debuted at the Auto Shanghai.  The compact MUV has balanced proportions and a low slung appearance.

The China specific car will be manufactured by the Dongfeng-Honda JV. The Jade measures 4,645mm long, 1,775mm wide, 1,500mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,760mm. Honda says the production version will be 99% similar to the concept. And that’s apparent from the spyshots.

The car will offer two engine options – a 1.8-litre engine producing 140bhp or a 2.0-litre engine pumping out 170bhp. There is also a possible hybrid variant that could join the lineup in the following years.
Even though the Jade is touted to be a China only model, it makes sense for Honda to replace the aging Stream with the Jade in international markets.
The predicted starting price stands at 150,000 Yuan (around Rs. 13.63 lakhs).

New European Honda Civic Tourer Wagon Spied

by Donny Lordlicht of www.automobilemag.com

Europeans get all the good wagons. Case in point: our spy shooter caught this copy of the next-generation Honda Civic Tourer out testing, clad in minimal camouflage.

While the geometric shapes of the camo try to fool your eye from seeing what this wagon is, the prototype caught testing looks almost identical to the near-production “concept” Honda showed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. The sleek, arcing roofline will make its way to production, as well the bold, blistered wheel wells – although they do appear to be somewhat toned down from what we saw on the concept. Up front, the new Civic Tourer will wear the same blacked-out grille treatment used on both the Tourer concept and the current European Civic hatchback. Sadly, it looks like the wagon variant will lose the awesome-looking LED running lights that adorned the corners of the concept from last month. We can’t see if the production car will keep the striking dip in the glass at the D-pillar, but can see that the stylish taillights and sculpted hatch live on. It even looks like the same split five-spoke wheels from the concept will carry over, as well.

When the concept debuted in Geneva, Honda declined to detail the powertrains coming to the wagon version of the Civic. However, there’s little doubt that they won’t mirror what’s available in the hatchback. If so, that means European buyers will have a choice of 1.4-liter and 1.8-liter gas engines, 1.6-liter and 2.2-liter diesel engines, and either a manual or automatic transmission. Power output ranges from 98 hp to 148 hp.

Sadly, there is about zero chance that we’ll ever see the new Honda Civic Tourer on our shores. Our Civic sedan and coupe share little with the European hatchback and wagon beyond their names, and Honda hasn’t graced American showrooms with a Civic hatch since the seventh-generation Civic Si from 2003-2005, or a wagon since the fourth-generation car went out of production in 1991. What do you say – would you like to see the new Civic Tourer in the U.S.? Sound off in the comments section.
Concept.
