Acura entry-level crossover under consideration - report - photos

Luxury vehicle manufacturer and Honda subsidiary Acura is planning a couple of changes on the US market in the near future.

Besides ditching the TSX, a rumor which has yet to be confirmed, Acura is also looking to raise the bar with its ILX entry-level luxury sedan by adding a more attractive package with “a lot more value” for a small price increase.

In addition, Acura could expand its lineup with a new CUV model that could rival the BMW X1, Buick Encore and the future Audi Q1. However, the company is not in a hurry to throw a competitor in the market just now: “Right now we feel with the RDX and the MDX that we have this one-two punch. BMW has (the X3 and X5), but neither of those vehicles are very strong. Lexus has just the one, RX, and we kind of surround it.”

In other related news, Acura has recently announced full pricing info for the 2014 MDX crossover. The vehicle can be had from $45,185 and can cost up to $57,400 if acquired with the SH-AWD Advance trim.
