Project SV650 - TZ250 seat

Got some insurance money last week.
Had a little crash on the SV650 with a blind idiot in a car.
He didn't see me riding in clear daylight.
Nothing serious, dent in my gas tank and some scratches on my side panel and a broken gear shifter.
Right now I'm glad he did not see me cause now I have the funds to chop my SV.
Gonna use the cash to turn my SV in a classic endurance inspired daily rider :) Had the plan since I bought the thing but never had the cash but now I can stop dreaming and start making the thing. Bought a TZ250 seat a while ago. Just ordered Britpart Land Rover Devender tail light and the legend JerryT will make me a new alu gastank and the subframe for the TZ tail.

The seat is to big right now. The blu line is how I'm planning to cut it.

Wheels and Waves 2013 - Saturday - The Ride - the End

Here are my last pictures of Wheels and Waves 2013
The ride on Saturday ended for me half way when I did my first dubble knee down when I tried to kiss the pavement. Bleeding knees, broken bike and a little dent in my ego but luckily a few days later I was able to fix the SV650 with help from Bixente Moto and returned to Amsterdam on my Suzy

Retro Wheels 2013

Great weekend. On Saturday I finally got the chance to work on the SV650. Got it on the road again but still have to change a lot before I can start using it again. Removed the clip ons and changed it for a drag bar. Turned out it was much more complicated than just swapping the tripple clamp. Had to rewire the brake line, still have to cut down the gigantic electric loop that was hidden in the SV fairing. The brak fluid reservoir needed a new mount. Kay made me a new mount for the recylcled speedo and tachometer. New mirror mount. I think I have to extend the gas cables, had to buy new headlight brackets and headlight, new blinkers, etc, etc. Just before dark I rode home from my friends garage near Utrecht without a working front light, blinkers, mirror, proper working front brake. I made it home safe but that was a rather sketchy ride...

Sunday I went to Retro Wheels in Scheveningen. Was planning to go on the GR650 but it still has some clutch problems so I decided to go on the Super100.
Arrived very late at Retro Wheels so I missed most of the bikes but the vibe and location was very good. Met a lot of nice people. Will be back next year!

Trip to Wheels and Waves - Teusday - Hotel de France

From Atelier Chatokhine I headed South. Set my new navigation system(bought it on monday) on no highways or toll roads. Found out the middle of France between Paris and Biarritz is not very interesting. The landscape and roads are mostley boring. Dull town after dull town, straight roads, and at every round about straight ahead...

My plan was to go to Angoulême but at the end of the day I needed some interesting landscapes so I ignored my navigation and headed south east. The picture of the SV in front of the bridge is in Chabanaise. This is the only picture I have of the SV before the crash. Lost my phone with all the pictures a few hours after the crash, whoops!

Parc naturel regional du perigord limousin was my new destination and in the end I ended up in Hotel de France in Rochechouart. I arived there at ten. The kitchen was closed and all the restaurants in town where closed but luckily they still served a nice plateau du fromage.
